Intel's current 13th Gen Core CPUs are known as the "Raptor Lake" family of chips, while later this year we're to expect the new 14th Gen Core "Raptor Lake Refresh" processors according to the latest rumours. Intel always launches new CPUs in the September-October end of the year, but now we're hearing more and more about the Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs.
We're hearing new information from Chinese media site ECSM, which reports Intel is planning the Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs for the client desktop platform, while the Sapphire Rapids Refresh is coming as the next Xeon W2500 and W3500 series CPUs. If you're after a Gaming PC with the current Intel 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" CPUs, we've got plenty of those in our Ready to Ship range of Gaming PCs.
What you need to know: Intel's new 14th Gen Core "Raptor Lake Refresh" CPUs will reportedly work on ALL of the Intel 600 and 700 series motherboards, which means the current LGA1700 socket will continue to live on for another 12 months at the least.
What this means: It means that Intel won't have its "Meteor Lake" CPUs out until the end of 2024 at the earliest and that Intel's upcoming Core branding refresh has been pushed back by 12 months at the least.
