Baldur's Gate III has been a runaway success for developer Larian, with a crazy-high peak concurrent users of 875,000 at once playing the game... but now we have an idea of how many copies of the game have been sold.
The Belgian Embassy has congratulated the studio for Baldur's Gate III, saying that the game has sold 5.2 million copies through Steam alone... remember, the game is also available through GOG. While it's smaller than Steam, we're looking at 5.2 million copies minimum. On top of that, we've got Larian Studios CEO announcing on August 3 -- before Baldur's Gate III was released -- that the studio had 2.5 million digital copies of the game sold throughout the Early Access period for the game.
