NVIDIA's very, very impressive DLSS 3 upscaling technology is coming to two major games: Diablo IV and Forza Horizon 5.

DLSS or Deep Learning Super Sampling entered its far more mature stage with DLSS 3, which is exclusive to NVIDIA's new Ada Lovelace GPU architecture that powers the GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs -- GeForce RTX 4090, RTX 4080, and RTX 4070 Ti... and the upcoming RTX 4070 -- with some MAJOR improvements to performance.

Redfall, Diablo IV, and Forza Horizon 5 will enjoy DLSS 3 and DLSS Frame Generation, providing GeForce RTX 40 series GPU owners with some truly wicked upgrades in performance. Michael Bukowski, Blizzard's Technical Director for Diablo IV explained in a statement: "Supporting smooth gameplay in Diablo IV is a priority for Blizzard. We're excited by the high frame rate of Diablo IV running on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series hardware and DLSS 3".

Diablo IV will enjoy DLSS 3 upscaling technology when it launches on June 6, but won't have ray tracing support until post-launch... which is a good thing, as you'll need DLSS 3 to enjoy high frame rates once ray tracing is enabled, so that's a win-win for GeForce RTX 40 series GPU owners.

Forza Horizon 5 receiving DLSS 3 is another win for gamers with a GeForce RTX 4090, RTX 4080, RTX 4070 Ti -- and the upcoming RTX 4070 -- with DLSS 2 support + ray traced reflections joining the fray a few months ago. Forza Horizon 5 is mostly CPU bound, so the DLSS Super Resolution addition helped out, but DLSS 3 is built differently: it generates frames independently of the GPU, so with DLSS Frame Generation enabled, RTX 40 series GPU owners should enjoy much higher performance again. 

Diablo IV officially launches on June 6.

Forza Horizon 5's upcoming DLSS 3 update isn't far away, dropping on March 28.
