Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an unstoppable franchise, but you might be surprised to know that players spent over $150 million AUD (over $100 million USD) on cases in March 2023... an astounding amount of money.
CS:GO Case Tracker is a website that collects stats on... well... I'm sure you can guess it from the name alone: it tracks cases sold in CS:GO. The site says that CS:GO players opened 39.5 million cases in March 2023, with cases ranging in costs from under $1 through to over $60, and with each case requiring a $2.50 key to open them, we have a -- very conservative, I'm sure -- number of $100 million USD.
Comparing this to the month before in February 2023, where CS:GO players opened 27.7 million cases, it means March 2023 saw a huge 42.5% month-to-month increase. Once again: an astounding amount of cases, and an even more astounding amount of money generated from cases in CS:GO for the month of March.
The recent uptick in case sales on CS:GO would be stemming from the fact Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2 just weeks ago, where we also saw players setting a new all-time record in CS:GO.
