Epic Games has just announced that an Unreal Editor is coming to Fortnite, which means the game will better compete with Roblox and the Roblox Studio.
The upcoming Unreal Editor for Fortnite (or UEFN) will be a new application for the PC that will allow gamers to design, develop, and publish games and experiences inside of Fortnite. The developer explained that with many of Unreal Engine 5's powerful tools and workflows available at your fingertips including custom asset support, modeling, materials, and VFX, Sequencer, and Control Rig, you'll have a "whole new world of options for producing and publishing games and experiences for Fortnite that can be enjoyed by millions of gamers".
UEFN will work directly with Fortnite's in-game Creator Mode, which will enable players on PC and console to create and "test islands in real-time". The ability of custom asset imports will also let gamers import characters into Fortnite that Epic Games themselves haven't included, even though their library of pop culture skins is already pretty legendary.
Another new update for Fortnite is "Verse", acting as a new language program that Epic Games says will offer "powerful customisation capabilities" that include things like manipulating or chaining together devices that allow you to easily create new game logic. Alrighty!
The new Unreal Editor for Fortnite will drop on March 22, check out the tweet about this news here.
