AMD's new Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX processor has been spotted, rocking 64 cores and 128 threads of HEDT processing power with a 350W TDP. These new CPUs won't go into a Gaming PC, as our Ready to Ship Gaming PCs configurations top out with 16 cores and 32 threads in the form of the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor.

The new AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 series is codenamed "Storm Peak" which should feature up to 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes (!!!) and 8 x DDR5 memory support. We're now seeing more details on the first 3 SKUs of the new CPUs, each with 350W TDPs, including:

  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX
  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7985WX
  • AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7945WX

We're expecting AMD to roll out its new SP6 socket for the new Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 series CPUs, with the two top SKUs featuring 64 cores and 128 threads of CPU power. We don't know if these will be sold standalone when they launch, but I'm sure a company like Lenovo or HP will have first dibs, getting the new Threadripper PRO chips into their workstation machines as soon as they're unleashed.
